The following is a letter sent to all members of the exclusive BERLIN-MARATHON Jubilee Club with an invitation to the 25th Bewag BERLIN HALF MARATHON on April 3, 2005, which they received with the RUNNING NEWS No. 23.At the same time, we greet the very newest members, and all of the new club members since the 31st real,- BERLIN- MARATHON 2004 are listed in the attachment, which has been previously published on the internet.

Jubilee Club Information 2005
Dear BERLIN-MARATHON Jubilee Club members,
On April 3, 2005 the 25th anniversary of the Bewag BERLIN HALF MARATHON – the “little brother” of the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON – will be celebrated.
We expect over 17,000 participants from about 60 countries in all of the races and “disciplines” offered.
We would like to get you in the mood for the upcoming Spring classic in Berlin, and with the enclosed Running News No. 23 we invite you to join in the fun, as an active athlete or spectator.
Start and finish are now even more attractive
Last year the start and finish were moved to the middle of the attractive city, between the Berlin Cathedral, the Lustgarten, and the State Opera House, thus slightly changing the course. Due to numerous construction sites, the start will again be moved slightly this year to Friedrichstrasse, while the finish will remain near the Berlin Cathedral, just before the Schlossbrücke (Palace Bridge).
Jubilee Club is growing and growing
The Jubilee Club of the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON keeps on growing. To our great pleasure, the run on the green race numbers continues.
There are already 1,443 members from 14 countries (96 women, 1,331 men and 16 wheelchair athletes) and the number of those applying for membership in the Jubilee Club of the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON is constantly increasing.
Boost in membership since September 26, 2004
The last big boost in membership in the club occurred at last year’s 31st real,- BERLIN-MARATHON on September 26, 2004, when 61 participants successfully crossed the finish for the 10th time and received their certificates and green Club t-shirts on stage at the Brandenburg Gate, celebrated by the spectators.
Since then several other participants have been able to come up with their old certificates and results lists from the BERLIN-MARATHON — and receive their membership as well.
The attached list includes all new memberships since September 26, 2004.

The numbers of international Jubilee Club members break down in the following manner:
59 participants from Denmark
14 participants from Sweden
13 participants from Switzerland
11 participants from Poland
6 participants from Great Britain
6 participants from Norway
6 participants from Austria
5 participants from Finland
3 participants from Holland
2 participants from Belgium
2 participants from France
1 participants from South Africa
1 participants from the Czech Republic
All other members are from Germany. There is one interesting case among the Germans, however: one man who works in China flies in directly each year — for which we would like to make a special note of recognition.

Bernd Hübner (Berlin) with race number "201" leads the pack, successfully finishing 31 times, and Christl Heine (Berlin) leads the women with race number "F101", finishing 23 times.

Coffee, cake, and cookies
At the next running fair (BERLIN VITAL Spring) for the 25th Bewag BERLIN HALF MARATHON, from March 31 to April 2, Bernd Hübner and his wife Monika will be there once again at the special Jubilee stand, offering members a place to meet, with advice and ideas for them.
The members’ booth is located between Halls 20 and 21 (the “trumpet”). Of course there will be coffee and other drinks, cake and cookies.
Horst Milde and Bernd Hübner continue to be the contact persons for the Jubilee Club members.
We are including two entrance tickets for the BERLIN VITAL Fair (Spring) for the Bewag BERLIN HALF MARATHON.
Training
For the past few years, Bernd Hübner has been offering special training in the Grunewald Forest for Jubilee Club members — meeting every Sunday at 9:30 (starting in April at 9 a.m.) at the Mommsen Stadium in Waldschulallee 23.

New applications for 2005
There are already 30 new applications for membership from participants who have successfully finished the BERLIN- MARATHON 9 times. We published a similar letter a while ago on our website, but since many members do not use the web to get their information, we are sending out this letter for their information by mail.
